Treasure Island Ferry Upgrade Puts Group Movement on One Corner

Ferry, Muni, a planned island shuttle and future East Bay bus meet at one rebuilt corner on Treasure Island. Nine event venues sit on the island and no hotel does.

One corner, four services

Treasure Island's ferry landing sits at the southwest corner of the island, where the causeway meets Yerba Buena Island. The Treasure Island Mobility Management Agency treats that corner as a single facility. Its July 2025 board memo lists the parts: the ferry terminal, a public plaza, and bus stops for Muni, a future on-island shuttle and future East Bay service.

Two of those services run today. The ferry crosses under an interim arrangement, and Muni route 25 runs. The shuttle and the East Bay bus service are planned. The transportation agency is building transit shelters, public restrooms and support spaces to serve the whole set.

What a delegation moves through

The ferry crosses between the island and the San Francisco Ferry Building at Gate B. Two travel figures circulate: eight minutes on the operator's ferry page and about ten on its getting-here page. The fare is $5 each way, $10 round trip. Children under five ride free. Tickets come from an app, the terminal, or cash and card at the gate. Clipper is not accepted.

Each sailing takes up to six bicycles on a first-come, first-served basis. Ferries and terminals are accessible, with boarding support available. On-board charging of mobility devices is prohibited.

Muni route 25 connects the island to the Salesforce Transit Center and runs along the Embarcadero every 20 minutes, every day. The operator names it as the alternative when a service disruption or a cancellation affects a trip.

The operating window a group must fit inside

Weekday departures from the island run 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The last boat leaves Gate B at 8:20 p.m. and lands at 8:28 p.m., per the operator timetable. A dinner that runs past 8:00 p.m. leaves Muni 25 as the only published route back.

The operator publishes fourteen island departures and fourteen Gate B departures on a weekday. The gaps between successive island departures run from 35 minutes to two hours.

The operator adds sailings between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays when the Off the Grid market runs.

The venue list and the numbers it omits

The island's host page lists nine featured venues. Aracely Cafe runs a landscaped patio, outdoor dining and an indoor cafe with catering. Bay Padel holds padel and pickleball courts indoors with adjacent gathering areas. Cityside Park covers six acres of lawn and promenade on the western shoreline. Gold Bar Whiskey Distillery & Tasting Room occupies a restored 1930s Art Deco terminal with a central bar, a tasting room and a waterfront patio. Mersea Restaurant & Bar has indoor and outdoor space, a lawn, outdoor games, a kitchen and a full bar. Panorama Park covers three acres on Yerba Buena Island and holds Hiroshi Sugimoto's Point of Infinity. San Francisco Glens Stadium carries a FIFA-certified pitch, a pitchside pub area, 5x5 fields and fan stands. Signal Point Park covers two acres on Yerba Buena Island. Treasure Island Wines runs a tasting room inside a working urban winery.

The events team states its range as intimate receptions through multi-day public festivals. The page publishes no seated capacity and no rate card for any of the nine.

Day use, and the room block

No hotel has opened on Treasure Island or Yerba Buena Island. The redevelopment entitlements allow up to 500 rooms across the pair, and the island's venue page lists no lodging property. A group that wants to stay overnight books on the San Francisco side and crosses for the day.

A half-day session, a reception and a return fit inside that timetable. A two-day programme with evening content runs past the last island departure.

The movement plan to write

Start with the room block on the mainland. Book the ferry as a timed movement. Assign a marshal per sailing. Six bicycles per trip caps a cycling contingent. Put the last movement at the 8:00 p.m. island departure or the 8:20 p.m. Gate B departure. Write Muni 25 into the plan as the overrun route.

Name the terminal as the hold point. The shelters and restrooms under construction give a group somewhere to stage and somewhere to wait out a delay.

Confirm four items before signing. The completion date of the shelters and restrooms, which the transportation authority last published as Summer 2026. The shuttle start date, which no source publishes. The East Bay bus start date, which no source publishes. The seated capacity of each venue, which no source publishes.

What the terminal changes for group business

The upgrade concentrates arrivals at one accessible point. Ferry, bus, bicycle and pedestrian traffic meet on the same corner. The operator states that accessible pathways connect the landing to the island's parks, neighborhoods and gathering spaces. The two Yerba Buena Island venues sit on the other island and need a separate movement.

The room supply sits on the mainland and the venue inventory sits on the island. The sailing timetable sets the frame around both.

The project page records the island network's target as at least 50 percent of trips made by transit.
