The Parade and Its Free Gate
The San Francisco Italian Heritage Parade steps off at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday 11 October 2026 at the foot of Jefferson and Powell Streets in Fisherman's Wharf. The route runs south through North Beach on Columbus Avenue and ends in Washington Square in front of Saints Peter and Paul Church. The organiser states that viewing is available throughout the entire route.
Admission to the parade, the Bank of America Concorso Italiano Auto Show included, is free. The 2026 Grand Marshal is the actor Joe Mantegna, and the Civic Grand Marshal is Bernie Orsi.
The Weekend the Board Publishes
Three further events sit on the organiser's calendar for the same weekend. Il Gran Ballo La Dolce Vita After Dark runs Saturday 10 October 2026 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel on Union Square from 5:30 p.m., with the Lucky Devils Band, no-host cocktails and black tie.
The Saints Peter and Paul Bazaar opens Saturday and Sunday 10 and 11 October from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The parish runs the 109th edition. Its own page reports the parade tables sold out, with seating from 11:30 a.m. and lunch service from noon.
High Mass is at 10 a.m. on Sunday 11 October at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 666 Filbert St., a Roman Catholic parish operated by the Salesians of St. John Bosco in North Beach.
The Two Nights the Weekend Supports
The Saturday programming holds a group in the city for the Saturday night: the gala at the Westin St. Francis and the bazaar's first session. The Sunday clocks hold it for the Sunday night: High Mass at 10 a.m., the step-off at 12:30 p.m., and the bazaar open until 6 p.m.
A group that takes in the gala and the parade books a Saturday-to-Monday stay of two nights, 10 and 11 October. The booking terms are the hotel's own.
Where a Group Watches and Eats
The organiser lists nine restaurants that seat guests on the street along the route: Original Joe's 415-775-4877, Piazza Pellegrini 415-397-7355, Tony's Pizza Napoletana 415-835-9888, Italian Homemade Company 415-712-8874, Palermo II Delicatessen 415-937-0161, Firenze by Night 415-392-8585, North Beach Restaurant 415-392-1700, Mona Lisa Mare e Monti Restaurant & Bar 415-398-1300 and Steps of Rome Trattoria 415-875-9721.
The organiser's own wording reads: "These restaurants offer to seat guests on the street along the parade route. A prime and unique experience to view the parade!" The page carries no address per restaurant, no cover charge, no reservation system and no parade-day menu, so the seating request goes to each restaurant on its published number.
The Weekend's Rate Basis
Engine puts San Francisco at $165 a night across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026, on par rates for stays 10 to 180 days out. October averages $176, seven percent above the city average, and March is the high month at $197. December is the low at $129, and 35 percent separates the cheapest month from the priciest.
The day-use shelf carries an average price of $119.61 for a day room in San Francisco, with up to 75 percent off an overnight stay, and Hotel Caza Fisherman's Wharf sits inside the city on that shelf. The network's own directory counts 562 hotels in San Francisco ready to respond.
The Route and the Calendar
The organiser publishes the route as two endpoints and no distance between them. A geocode of both endpoints returns 0.56 mile in a straight line, and the walking route between them runs 0.61 mile. The nine restaurants, the bazaar and the church all sit on or beside that line.
The organiser's most recent edition announcement is the 157th, dated 19 September 2025. Its pages carry one accommodation reference, an SF Travel hotel-recommendations link, and name one hotel, the Westin St. Francis, as the gala venue. No room block, no cut-off date and no group code appear beside either.
What a Group Asks the Hotel For
The organiser leaves the booking terms to the hotel, so the group writes its own request. The published weekend gives that request its shape: two nights from Saturday 10 October, rooms within walking distance of Washington Square and Fisherman's Wharf, and a Saturday dining slot ahead of the gala. The nine street-seating restaurants publish phone numbers only, so that booking runs restaurant by restaurant.
