The GEMS Film and Industry Happy Hour runs on Tuesday 27 October at 6 pm at TULUM Rooftop Bar & Restaurant. The festival calendar gives the event 120 minutes. The event page lists it as private and invite-only, with light bites and cocktails.
A delegation that wants that room books Tuesday as its first night. Buyers, distributors, sales agents and festival programmers stand in it.
Who holds an invitation
The invitation list carries Accredited Industry and Platinum, Visionary and CineClub members.
Two routes reach it. Industry accreditation costs $85. Membership starts at $65 for Film Lover and runs to $2,500 for Platinum.
The $85 GEMS Badge carries one General Screening ticket per screening at two screenings a day across the eight days, a limited number of Celebrity Conversation tickets, discounted Centerpiece tickets and rush line entry. Opening Night and Closing Night sit outside the badge, and the rush line skips those two.
The Industry page prints a 15 October deadline at 11:59 pm for the badge. That date has passed. The same page carries the membership route through Platinum, Visionary and CineClub.
Ten delegates on the $85 badge cost $850. Ten Visionary memberships cost $11,650.
The block, night by night
The published festival window runs Thursday 29 October to Thursday 5 November. The reception sits two nights before the opening.
A Tuesday 27 October arrival with a Friday 6 November checkout holds ten nights. A Thursday 29 October arrival with the same checkout holds eight.
The calendar dates 47 sessions across the eight days. Twenty-three fall on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November. The five other weeknights carry 20, and Friday 30 October carries four.
Saturday holds 11 starts between 12:15 pm and 8:30 pm across four rooms. Sunday holds 12 starts between 12:00 pm and 7:30 pm across four rooms.
Two award conversations sit in the week, both at MDC Wolfson at 7 pm. The Variety Creative Vanguard Award with John Turturro on Monday 2 November. The Variety Virtuoso Award with Javier Ambrossi, Javier Calvo and Guitarricadelafuente on Wednesday 4 November.
The rooms a group moves between
Six rooms carry the 47 sessions. The Bill Cosford Cinema at 5030 Brunson Drive and Coral Gables Art Cinema at 260 Aragon Avenue sit in Coral Gables. The Koubek Center at 2705 Southwest 3rd Street, Silverspot Cinema at 300 Southeast 3rd Street and MDC Wolfson at 300 Northeast 2nd Avenue sit in Miami. O Cinema at 1130 Washington Avenue sits on Miami Beach.
OpenStreetMap routing on 20 October gives 2.66 miles and about seven minutes from the Koubek Center to Coral Gables Art Cinema, and 7.85 miles and about 15 minutes from Silverspot Cinema to the Cosford.
O Cinema holds one session, Bedford Park at 6 pm on closing day.
What the festival publishes for a group
The Travel and Dining page names three hotel partners: JW Marriott Marquis Miami, W Miami and 1 Hotel South Beach. It carries no rate, no booking code and no cut-off date. The GEMS pages publish no room block, no group rate and no meeting space. A hold here is a direct request to a property, and the festival supplies the dates and the reception.
The group ticket mechanics
General seats cost $16.50, and each ticket carries a $2 to $10 processing fee. Ten seats at one screening carry $20 to $100 in fees.
Pick Six and Take Twelve redeem on General and Centerpiece screenings. Opening Night, Closing Night, retrospectives and celebrity conversations sit outside both passes, and the festival emails a code after purchase.
Before the hold goes out
Four published facts carry the request: the reception clock, the ten-night span, the 23-session weekend and the absence of any festival rate.
Settle the invitation question first. A delegation without accreditation or a qualifying membership books the nights and the seats, and the Tuesday reception stays closed to it.
Closing night is Thursday 5 November at 7 pm at the Koubek Center with Club Kid. The block ends the following morning.
