One Route for a Group Block
The ASCO Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium 2027 runs Thursday 21 to Saturday 23 January at Moscone West, 800 Howard Street in San Francisco. The venue's own event feed carries the booking from 21 to 23 January in Moscone West.
The organiser routes new group room blocks through the ASCO Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium Customer Service Center. SPARGO, Inc. is the only official registration and housing provider for ASCO meetings and symposia. The organiser publishes a fraud alert covering third-party sites that solicit registrations and room bookings.
The Deadline the Block Shares with the Badge
One date governs the room and the badge. The organiser prints it as "Hotel Reservations and Early Registration Deadline is December 2, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET." That date falls 50 days before the Thursday open.
The housing page states the consequence in its own words. Reservations received after the deadline are processed on a space-available basis and may be subject to a higher rate.
Cancellations must be made 72 hours before the arrival date to avoid a cancellation fee.
What the File Publishes About Money
The record carries no block rate, no minimum night count and no release date beyond the 2 December deadline. A group planner prices a block against the published registration ladder instead.
The registration page prints a three-step in-person ladder for physicians and scientists. On or before December 2, 2026 the member rate is 975 dollars and the nonmember rate is 1,495 dollars. Between December 3, 2026 and January 8, 2027 the pair reads 1,125 and 1,645 dollars. From January 9, 2027 the pair reads 1,200 and 1,720 dollars.
Registration stays open through 4:30 PM PT on Saturday 23 January. Registration cancellation closes on 17 January 2027 at 11:59 PM ET.
The in-person fee includes entrance to all sessions, posters and exhibits, three continental breakfasts, three boxed lunches and two wine and cheese poster receptions. Those meals come off the group's food and beverage budget for the three days.
The Block the 2026 Edition Sized
The association's demographics page prints 5,190 registrations for 2026. The total divides into 4,230 professionals, 770 exhibitors and 190 media and others. Of the professionals, 3,490 attended in person and online and 740 took the online-only registration.
The association's home page prints 5K+ total attendees and 54 countries represented. The largest national groups in 2026 were the United States at 2,610, Japan at 252, Canada at 152, China at 96, the United Kingdom at 80 and France at 73.
The Room Base the Venue Publishes
The convention centre publishes two room counts of its own. Its FAQ states that there are over 20,000 hotel rooms within walking distance of The Moscone Center. Its booking page states that more than two-thirds of the city's 34,000 hotel rooms sit within walking distance.
Both counts cover the city's lodging stock. Neither is a held block, and neither publishes a rate for the January dates.
What a Planner Checks Before the Deadline
The record publishes no release clause and no block minimum. Ask the Customer Service Center for both in writing before the 2 December deadline, and keep the reply with the block file.
