Charity walk lands 2,598 participants on Miami's fairgrounds

261 teams and 2,598 registered walkers on the Miami-Dade fairgrounds, with a captain and a company name on each team page.

The team is the group unit

St. Jude Walk Miami put 2,598 registered participants on the Miami Dade County Fair & Expo Center grounds on Saturday, 26 September 2026. They walked as 261 teams and raised $570,360 against a $650,000 goal, which the event page states as 88 percent.

Those totals divide into 9.95 participants per team and $219.54 raised per participant.

Each team page names a captain. Where the captain fills the field, the page also names a company affiliation. Green Worldwide Miami Team lists Madelin McKay as captain, Green Worldwide Shipping as the affiliation, 13 participants and $1,360 raised against a $1,500 goal.

The board a group seller can read

The team leaderboard ranks by dollars. Miami Supreme/Supreme Twins Foundation leads at $22,615. NSA Miami sits at $16,200, Green and White Angels at $11,311, Maria's Angels at $10,610 and S.H.E. Gives Back at $10,390.

Natera Oncology raised $10,000. Team Carlitos and a team named Adamari sit at the same figure. Gloria's Light for St. Jude raised $9,135 and Desi's Dream Team $8,610.

Further down the board sit DAC & JAM at $7,820, Estrella Law at $7,500, Richemont Miami at $6,020, Miami Dade College at $5,245, HD Investigative Group at $3,750, Five Star Jewelers at $3,635 and Region 9 DXL at $3,234.

Business names fill that board. The step from a business name to a group account runs through the captain, and the event publishes the captain.

The venue outside the fair window

Fair Expo Center rents space across 86 acres. Its rental page states more than 70 events a year outside the annual Youth Fair, which takes 21 days every spring. The venue's 2027 calendar puts the next Youth Fair at 18 March to 11 April, with 29 and 30 March and 5 and 6 April listed as closed.

The walk date sat outside that window. The same page lists Sounds of Screams from 24 September to 1 November 2026, Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk on 17 October and Blood Sugar at Edwards Hall on 30 October.

The grounds carry 400 recreational vehicle hookups, 22 acres of asphalt, permanent overhead lighting, restrooms and showers. The venue describes itself as non-union.

A morning carries no evening programme

The walk published three times: 6:30 a.m. site open, 7:30 a.m. opening ceremony, 8:00 a.m. walk start. The schedule ends there.

A seller who prices nights needs a clock on both ends. This event supplies one end. A team that stays a second night does so on the hotel's own offer, taken to the captain before the date.

The money keeps moving after the gate

Registration closed. The donation page stayed open, and it states that donations still count toward the goal.

The top individual fundraiser is Maria Ruiz de Luque at $10,260. The same name sits on the event page as the walk's staff partner, with a direct line and an email at alsac.stjude.org.

That is the name on the page for a group enquiry, and the board beside it lists the teams worth the call.

Repeat business sits off the page

The leaderboard carries one year of totals. The team pages carry a captain, a roster size, a raised figure, a goal and a company affiliation. The public record carries no years-participated field.

Repeat status therefore sits in the organiser's records. The event page publishes the staff partner and a contact route. The venue publishes Sira Camilo as Director of Fair Expo Center, with a telephone line and an email for rental enquiries.

A seller who wants the next date asks the venue for its calendar and asks the organiser for the team list.

What the page does not carry

The walk publishes no hotel list, no room block and no room-night count. It publishes no gate count, so 2,598 stays a registration figure.

The venue attaches a disclaimer to each listing. The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition states that it is not affiliated with any activity on its fairgrounds and does not endorse that activity when it licenses the space.

A group account here starts with a captain, a roster and one date. The board carries all three in public.
