The Campus Opened on October 1
Elanco Animal Health opened its global headquarters on October 1, 2025 on the former General Motors Stamping Plant site west of downtown Indianapolis. The campus carries a $200-million-plus price tag and holds three buildings: a six-story administration block, a two-story laboratory building and a two-story collaboration building the company calls its crossroads building.
More than 700 employees work out of the campus inside a global workforce of about 9,450. Elanco moved the headquarters from Greenfield along Interstate 70. The company spun off from Eli Lilly and Co. in 2018.
The campus anchors a research district on the west bank of the White River. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. renamed the business campus Levee, drawing on the levee along the river's western bank and on the Latin root levare. The district has carried the name OneHealth Innovation District since May 2024, when Elanco and Purdue University announced plans to partner on a shared-use facility and set the campus as a research area for human, animal and plant health sciences.
What the Campus Carries for Planners
The campus carries employee amenities: workstations inside and out, a wellness center and gym, courts for pickleball, bocce ball and basketball, a cafe and coffee shop, and an enclosed dog park. No publisher has printed a function square footage, a room count, a seating capacity, an audiovisual inventory or a rate card for the campus.
One planned event venue was removed. State and city leaders planned to convert the plant's historic crane bay into an event pavilion for concerts, weddings and corporate gatherings, funded in part by a $30 million Lilly Endowment grant. Demolition of the structure began in early September 2025, and White River State Park returned the grant to the endowment on October 8, 2025. Elanco's executive director of global corporate communications, Colleen Dekker, said the cost and the timeline to turn the crane bay into usable corporate event space made removal the better outcome. A group that planned around a riverfront pavilion plans elsewhere.
Where the Group Sleeps and Meets
Visit Indy counts 12 hotels and 5,200 rooms connected to the Indiana Convention Center, and more than 10,000 rooms within walking distance of the building. The connected package publishes its own meeting square footage: 104,482 at the JW Marriott, 235,000 at the Signia with its 50,000-square-foot ballroom, 52,107 at the Crowne Plaza, 42,500 at The Westin, 42,000 at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, 35,000 at the Hyatt Regency, 24,200 at the Embassy Suites and 15,000 at the Conrad.
The Indiana Convention Center facility guide counts 4,721 hotel rooms connected to the Center by skywalk, 7,175 rooms inside a six-block radius and 4,570 committable group rooms. The same guide counts 11 exhibit halls at 566,600 contiguous square feet, 71 meeting rooms at 113,302 square feet and a 30,000-square-foot indoor loading dock with 11 bays.
The hotel set sits within a mile and a quarter of the campus on straight-line measures taken from OpenStreetMap coordinates. The JW Marriott Indianapolis at 10 S. West St. sits 1,160 m (0.72 mi) from the campus. The Indiana Convention Center at 100 S. Capitol Ave. sits 1,319 m (0.82 mi) away. The Westin Indianapolis, Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Downtown Union Station, Signia by Hilton Indianapolis, Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, Omni Severin Hotel and Le Meridien Indianapolis fall between 1,447 m (0.90 mi) and 1,722 m (1.07 mi).
An offsite option sits inside walking range of the campus. The Biltwell Event Center takes groups at 950 S. White River Parkway West Drive and runs its own booking line.
Set the RFP Now
The campus carries a live calendar. A headquarters of 700 people runs candidate interviews, vendor reviews, auditor visits, onboarding cohorts, team offsites and customer meetings through the year, and the laboratory and crossroads buildings carry that traffic.
Group-sales practice runs on an early approach, and the calendar rewards it. A training cohort or a stakeholder meeting placed in the first half of a week draws on the convention center's pool of 4,570 committable group rooms. Downtown Indianapolis averaged a daily rate of $209.11 on 64.7 percent occupancy in the Downtown Indy Alliance snapshot that Bradford Allen republished on 19 March 2026 from CoStar and STR data, and that average is the base a midweek programme prices against.
What to Ask For
Send Elanco a written request for the campus function-space inventory, the largest room, seating capacity, audiovisual capability, whether outside groups may book, and the catering rules. Ask the OneHealth Innovation District for the schedule of its shared-use facility and for its convening calendar. Both are unpublished.
Ask the hotels for held inventory through convention weeks and for the shoulder nights around a midweek programme. The convention center's 4,570 committable group rooms set the pool a convention week draws from.
A Weekday Account on the West Bank
The account is a weekday account. The headquarters, the laboratory building and the crossroads building stand on the ground. Pitch 2027 training cohorts and stakeholder meetings now, and ask the campus to name its meeting space before the request for proposals goes out.
