What the Fever Performance Center Adds to Indianapolis Group Blocks

Pacers Sports & Entertainment opens the Indiana Fever Sports Performance Center before the 2027 WNBA season: 108,000 square feet over three storeys, a two-court training floor, a recovery suite and a skybridge to Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Alabama Street.

Pacers Sports & Entertainment expects to open the Indiana Fever Sports Performance Center before the 2027 WNBA season. The complex covers 108,000 square feet over three storeys and carries a 78 million dollar budget. It occupies the west half of the former Marion County Jail site at the corner of Alabama and Maryland streets in downtown Indianapolis.

One Delivery, Dated

Construction began with a groundbreaking ceremony on September 4, 2025. The building connects to Gainbridge Fieldhouse and to the Virginia Avenue Parking Garage by skybridge. The team's own release dates the plan to January 16, 2025 and calls the center an exclusive facility for the Fever.

That delivery date is the only published booking anchor. No page publishes a group rate, a hold policy or a cut-off tied to the 2027 season.

Two Courts and a Recovery Suite

Two regulation-sized courts with natural light anchor the programme. Strength and conditioning equipment, sports medicine and rehabilitation space sit beside them. The recovery suite carries hydrotherapy pools, an infrared sauna, red light therapy and treatment rooms.

The building also holds a yoga and Pilates area, a hydration station, a full-service kitchen with a nutrition and smoothie bar, a private outdoor courtyard, mental performance spaces, a hair and nail salon, child care spaces, a content production studio and podcast room, and a golf simulator. The ground floor opens to a public lobby with the Hall of Excellence and a team store.

Read the amenity list as demand context for the district. No published page describes public access, group rental or a bookable date at the center. Put those three questions to Pacers Sports & Entertainment in writing before you quote a 2027 programme.

How the Site Is Held

The land terms sit in the team's own release. An affiliate of Pacers Sports & Entertainment builds the center. The city transfers the land to the Capital Improvement Board of Marion County by intergovernmental agreement. The board signs an operating agreement with the affiliate, and the facility passes to the board when that term ends.

Ask the board for the public-use terms inside that operating agreement.

Downtown Block Inventory

The Indiana Convention Center counts 7,100 hotel rooms downtown. It reports 4,700 rooms connected to the center by skywalk and 200 restaurants within walking distance. More than half of the downtown rooms sit within blocks of the center and Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Signia by Hilton Indianapolis adds 803 rooms in December 2026. The hotel carries 90,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 50,455-square-foot Grand Ballroom, and connects to the center's south campus and to Lucas Oil Stadium by a climate-controlled skywalk. Visit Indy states the connected package then holds 12 hotels and 5,200 rooms, with more than 10,000 rooms within walking distance of the center.

Skywalk hours follow the event schedule. The venue gives a rule of thumb of lockdown at about 11:00 p.m. and re-opening at about 6:00 a.m.

What to Request Before You Quote

Ask the arena for its 2027 event calendar with dates. Ask Pacers Sports & Entertainment for the daily-use schedule and any outside-group policy at the center. Ask each hotel for group rate floors, minimum-stay rules and shoulder-night terms. Ask Visit Indy for the connected-hotel package terms.

Ask the city Department of Metropolitan Development for the approved coach staging and load-zone plan on the block. A staging plan controls where a coach stands while delegates check in.
