The Partnership and the Block
USA Volleyball runs the inaugural Golden Gate Classic Girls Junior National Qualifier from Friday 19 February to Sunday 21 February 2027 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The organiser announced the event on 26 August 2026 in partnership with the San Francisco Travel Association.
The venue names the same host body. The Moscone Center states that all events at the centre are booked by the San Francisco Travel Association.
The rooms run through a single contract. Team Travel Source holds the housing for this event, and the organiser releases the booking link only to teams it has moved to an Ok to Pay status on registration time stamp. A team on the waitlist or still pending holds no access to the block.
What a Housing Requirement Does
Team Travel Source publishes the mechanics behind the term. Its policy page states that all reservations must be made through the designated reservation portal and must appear on the official rooming list and final compliance report.
A reservation therefore reaches the block's own record through two documents: the rooming list and the final compliance report.
The partner sets out two returns it measures for an event organiser. Room nights under the programme can be tracked and reported to the host city, and that record carries the event’s economic case on hotel usage. Hotels that expect the pickup contract larger blocks at the properties a group wants.
The Rate Basis This Block Runs On
Team Travel Source prices this event on demand. Its qualifier lander carries the Golden Gate Classic row at 02/19/27 to 02/21/27 for the Moscone Center, and a note on that page states that live event rates are based on demand and subject to change.
The lander adds that live events do not qualify for the Lowest Rate Guarantee. The partner’s guarantee page gives the reason. Its guarantee runs only to the contracted cut-off date, which the page puts at about one month before the event. The hotels release unsold rooms at that point, and the released inventory can sell below the block price.
Where the guarantee does apply, the comparison is narrow. It requires the same room type, the same dates, the same included amenities and the same cancellation and payment terms, at a partner property listed on the partner site. Rates on Expedia, Travelocity, Hotels.com and Priceline fall outside it. The exclusion list also covers membership rates such as AAA and AARP, corporate negotiated rates, government rates, hotel employee and friends-and-family rates, and prepaid or non-refundable rates.
The Same Weekend Holds a Second Convention
The Moscone Center event feed, read 17 October 2026, records the Orthopaedic Research Society 2027 Annual Meeting at Moscone West from 19 to 23 February 2027. That programme opens on the qualifier’s first match day and closes two days after the qualifier.
Team Travel Source notes that a sports event competes for city rooms with other conventions, meetings and conferences.
Two venue pages carry the inventory figure, each on its own basis. The Moscone Center FAQ counts more than 20,000 rooms inside walking reach of the hall. The book-an-event page counts more than two-thirds of the city’s 34,000 rooms within the same band.
The Room-Night Value the City Counts
An Oxford Economics study published by the American Hotel and Lodging Association and the California Hotel and Lodging Association on 25 June 2026 puts each hotel room night at about $900 in citywide spending per visitor. It counts more than $12 billion in economic impact for San Francisco hotels in 2025.
The market rate for the window sits near the city average. Engine reports a San Francisco February par rate of $166 a night against a city average of $165. The series draws on 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. March runs $197, and 35 percent separates the cheapest month from the priciest.
The Field and the Entry
Entry is $925 per team. A credit card payment carries a $25 non-refundable convenience fee, and a check carries none.
Four divisions run across the 15, 16 and 17 age groups. They rank Open, USA, Liberty and American. USA Volleyball publishes no team count for 2027, and the event page states that the overall count will be fluid and may change from the initial registration opening count.
Open divisions take a separate acceptance path. Where a division draws 24 or more registrations in its first 24 hours, the organiser reviews that window. Priority goes to teams that qualified in the Open or USA division at a national qualifier, or that finished in the top 20 percent of an Open field. The registration timestamp settles the rest.
The Dates a Group Desk Diarises
The entry calendar holds four dates. Registration opened 16 September 2026 at 11 a.m. Eastern Time. It closes 31 December 2026 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time. The roster deadline falls on 1 January 2027 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time, and the refund deadline on 10 January 2027 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
Practice at the Moscone Center runs 18 February from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Each team takes court space on a first-come, first-served basis and holds it for one hour.
