INFORMS Brings 6,000 Analytics Delegates to SoMa for Four Nights

The 2026 INFORMS Annual Meeting runs 1-4 November at Moscone Center South and the San Francisco Marriott Marquis, with the room block closed and an out-of-block list the portal prices separately.

Two Venues, Four Days, One District

The 2026 INFORMS Annual Meeting runs Sunday 1 November to Wednesday 4 November. The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences lists Moscone Center South at 747 Howard Street and the San Francisco Marriott Marquis at 780 Mission Street.

INFORMS expects more than 6,000 members, students, prospective employers and employees, and academic and industry experts. Both venues sit in SoMa, and the venue's own event record carries the meeting at Moscone South.

The Block and Its Two Properties

The housing block names the San Francisco Marriott Marquis and the InterContinental San Francisco at 888 Howard Street. INFORMS publishes the cut-off date as 8 October 2026 and states that rooms are available until sold out or that date. The portal's event record runs from 1 November to 4 November.

Block rooms are held for registered attendees. The organiser states that it reviews the reservation list and cancels duplicate bookings and bookings held without a corresponding registration. A guest who booked inside the block waits for the hotel confirmation and then contacts the hotel directly to change or cancel.

The portal routes new bookings to an Additional Nearby Hotels section. That section held 16 properties for the meeting nights on the 15 October 2026 read, listed from $187 at The Westin St Francis to $701 at The St Regis San Francisco. The portal states that those reservations sit outside the group, are not eligible for the group rate, and carry different pricing and terms.

Four Nights of Destination Spend

A four-night stay covers the nights of 1, 2, 3 and 4 November, with checkout on Thursday 5 November. A delegate arriving on Saturday 31 October for the pre-conference day books five nights.

Engine measures the citywide San Francisco average public nightly rate at $165 across 3.1 million rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. November averages $147 a night, 11 percent below that figure. Four nights at the November average come to $588 per room. Engine labels these par rates and defines them as the cheapest publicly available price at the time of each search, observed in bookings searched 10 to 180 days before check-in.

INFORMS publishes the airport distance. San Francisco International Airport sits about 14 miles from the convention centre and the conference hotels, a drive of about 20 to 30 minutes. The Moscone Center offers no on-site public parking, and the venue FAQ points to garages along Howard, Mission, Third and Fourth Streets.

Registration runs at $900 for members and $1,250 for nonmembers at regular pricing. Student and retired members pay $400, and student and retired nonmembers pay $510. A group of 10 or more member or nonmember registrants from one organisation books at $675 and $945 per registrant, arranged with INFORMS before any registrations are submitted. Group rates do not apply to students or retirees. The organiser states that it makes no retroactive group rate adjustment for individuals who register at the regular rate.

The Programme Load

Saturday 31 October carries the pre-conference day. Self check-in and registration run from 7 a.m. The Combined Colloquia, the 10th Workshop on Data Science and the 21st Workshop on Data Mining and Decision Analytics each run 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the CTL Teaching Excellence and Networking Workshop runs 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and exhibitor workshops start at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday registration runs 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The exhibit hall opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m., the Career Fair and Networking Day runs 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Welcome Reception and Communities Fair runs 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Monday and Tuesday repeat the shape. Registration runs 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the exhibit hall runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Career Fair interviews run 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Community business meetings and receptions run 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. on both days. Wednesday closes at noon after the closing plenary at 11 a.m. INFORMS offers no one-day registration, and the organiser states that the meeting is fully in person.

What a Group Seller Asks First

Three counts shape a booking for this meeting. Count the delegate nights inside the block after the 8 October cut-off. Count the delegates arriving on 31 October for the pre-conference day. Count the rooms the group needs around 747 Howard Street and 780 Mission Street.

Two published terms set the room list rule. The change window closed on 8 October, and the property handles modifications and cancellations directly after that date. The organiser cancels duplicate reservations and reservations held without a corresponding registration, so the list has to hold one registration per room across the four nights.
