Jakarta hosts the third Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Fair

The Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Fair 2026 runs from 15 to 17 October at the Grand Ballroom, JIExpo Jakarta, in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

GIPI, the Indonesian Tourism Industry Association, owns and runs the fair. The Jakarta Special Province government hosts it. The Ministry of Tourism collaborates on it. This is the third edition.

The fair carries the theme "Beyond Borders: Shaping the Future of Indonesian Tourism" and the tagline "Connecting Markets. Creating Impact." The organiser frames the edition around Jakarta's 499th anniversary and the city's journey to five centuries.

The organiser's home page states three headline targets: 1,500+ delegates and buyers, 500+ exhibitors and 42+ countries.

What the group buyer gets

The Hosted Buyer Programme commits to pre-scheduled business appointments, access to international exhibitors, networking events, conference access, destination presentations, an exclusive buyer lounge and a familiarisation trip.

The Ministry of Tourism reports more than 100 international buyers from 34 countries and more than 200 buyers from national companies. Both groups meet Indonesian exhibitors through business matching.

TTG Asia reports more than 300 domestic and international buyers from 35 countries across the leisure and corporate travel segments.

Venue Magz reports the meeting format. Buyers and sellers book appointments through the PSA system at about 10 minutes per meeting. The same report gives the curation criteria. The committee filtered the applicant list around direct flight access and visa ease.

Budi Tirtawisata chairs the WITF 2026 steering committee. He said: "Jakarta is not only a point of arrival. Jakarta is a meeting point."

Hariyadi Sukamdani chairs GIPI. He said: "We cannot just wait for global conditions to get better. We still must promote, we have to keep selling, and we have to keep building good relationships with our buyers."

What the seller gets

The organiser's exhibitor profile names fifteen categories: national tourism organisations, regional tourism boards, hotels and resorts, DMCs, tourism activities, airlines, land transportation, wellness tourism, theme parks, cruise companies, tourism technology, travel services, tourism associations, convention bureaus and creative economy businesses.

The organiser's 23 August 2026 notice states that booth space and tabletop positions in the Pavilion Area remain available.

The organiser publishes prior-edition figures. The 2024 edition welcomed 170 hosted buyers from 38 countries. The 2025 edition carried more than 250 exhibitors, 200 hosted buyers from 39 countries and more than 5,500 pre-scheduled business appointments.

The room and the rate

The venue publishes its own capacity table for the Grand Ballroom. The floor area is 2,700 square metres and the height is 6.9 metres. The room divides into three. Banquet capacity runs from 1,220 to 1,460, and reception capacity is 2,700. Theatre capacity runs from 3,246 to 3,831.

The organiser's headline figure of 1,500+ delegates and buyers sits below the published reception capacity of 2,700 and above the published banquet range of 1,220 to 1,460.

The venue sits at Arena JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta Pusat 10620.

The organiser's accommodation page names two confirmed hotel partners: Mercure Jakarta Batavia in Jakarta Old Town and 1O1 URBAN Jakarta Kelapa Gading in Kelapa Gading. The page states that delegates, exhibitors and hosted buyers can book at preferred rates through booking codes, that the codes will be shared closer to the event, and that rate cards will be published as they are confirmed. No cut-off date, room block size or nightly rate appears on the page.

The venue publishes a separate five-property accommodation directory. Holiday Inn Express JIEXPO Kemayoran sits within walking distance of the venue. Aston Kemayoran City Hotel sits 600 metres away, Putri Duyung Ancol 3.1 kilometres, Grand Mercure Jakarta Harmoni 3.2 kilometres and Novotel Jakarta Pulomas 5.3 kilometres.

Travel beyond the fair floor

TTG Asia reports post-event familiarisation trips for international buyers to Belitung, East Java, North Sulawesi and West Java, departing from 18 October. The Ministry of Tourism's own programme document schedules that trip for 10 to 17 October, with departure from Indonesia on 17 October.

Ni Made Ayu Marthini is deputy for marketing at the Ministry of Tourism. She said the programme introduces buyers to destinations beyond Bali. On Belitung she said: "Connectivity from Singapore to Tanjung Kelayang is opening up, and we have seen a significant increase in visitors, which is a positive development."

The organiser publishes a separate familiarisation trip from Jakarta to Yogyakarta on the Panoramic Train operated by PT KAI. The itinerary includes visits to selected tourism villages.

Programme and terms still to publish

The organiser's agenda page dates the three days. Day 1 is "Opening & Marketplace", Day 2 is "Conference & Business Matching" and Day 3 is "Investment & Closing". Each day carries the same description: opening ceremony, exhibitor marketplace, hosted buyer meetings, conference sessions and networking receptions. The page states the detailed hour-by-hour programme will be published closer to the event. No keynote time, panel line-up or business matching slot appears on it.

The organiser's conference page names ten themes: tourism trends, sustainable tourism, AI and digital transformation, destination marketing, investment, aviation, hospitality, MICE, creative economy and community-based tourism. The page runs a call for speakers.

The organiser lists partner categories for a bank partner, airline partners, an official railway travel partner, a support partner, a carbon partner, media partners and an official travel media partner. Its footer names Garuda Indonesia, Malaysia Airline, Oman Airlines, Eva Air, Venue Magazine and Kompas.
