The List Comes Curated
The venue map for Lit Crawl SF 2026 carries a provenance line. It reads: This list was curated by the Calle 24 Latino Cultural District. Learn more at calle24sf.org.
Calle 24 states its own mission on its site: to preserve, enhance and advocate for Latino cultural continuity, vitality, and community in San Francisco's touchstone Latino Cultural District and the greater Mission community.
That line hands a group programme a route that already exists. Lit Crawl runs Saturday 24 October 2026 in the Mission District, and it caps the annual Litquake Festival.
Three Phase Starts on a Walking Footprint
The map splits the night into three phases. Phase 1 runs 5:00pm to 6:00pm. Phase 2 runs 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Phase 3 runs 8:00pm to 9:00pm. Each gap between phases is 30 minutes.
The schedule host lists 20 sessions at 5:00pm, 17 at 6:30pm and 14 at 8:00pm. Twenty-one venues host those sessions. Three further addresses carry the pre-crawl programme: Mission Branch Library, Temporary Location at 1234 Valencia St, The Writers Grotto at 1663 Mission St #602 and Page Street Co-working at 297 Page St. The published venue list totals 24 addresses.
The addresses sit close together. Measured straight-line from the published street addresses, the 21 phase venues span 1.41 miles north to south and 0.55 miles east to west. The widest separation between two phase venues is 1.45 miles, from Martuni's at 4 Valencia St to Medicine for Nightmares at 3036 24th St. The closest pair is 146 feet, between Good Vibrations at 603 Valencia St and The Drawing Room: Annex at 599 Valencia St.
Valencia St carries ten of the phase addresses and the Mission Branch Library at 1234. Mission St carries four of the phase venues. No published page carries a walk time between any two venues.
The organiser prints one transport line on the map: Lit Crawl is BARTable.
No published page on this track names a coach drop-off, a staging area or event parking. Parking, coach, shuttle and valet return zero hits across the crawl page, the schedule host and the venue map.
The Terms a Group Walks Up To
Every published entry term points to an open door. The crawl charges nothing. The schedule host states that no RSVPs are necessary and that seating and space are first come, first serve.
No page publishes a reservation route, a table hold, a seated block or a headcount form. The afterparty is the one priced item. It runs 9:00pm to 11:00pm at The Drawing Room: Annex, 599 Valencia St, at $10 a head, and it carries NOTAFLOF.
The Programme Before the Phases
Three entries run before 5:00pm. Love Your Library opens at 10:00am at Mission Branch Library, Temporary Location, at 1234 Valencia St. Lit & Libations at the Writer's Grotto carries a 2:00pm to 4:00pm window on the schedule host and a 2:30pm to 4:00pm window on the map. Want to Read at Lit Crawl? A Pre-Crawl Tailgate runs 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Page Street Co-working, 297 Page St.
The map heads both tailgates FREE. It tags Page Street and The Writers Grotto as Premium Tailgate Sponsors of the 2026 Lit Crawl. The Grotto clock differs by 30 minutes between the two documents.
Age Markers for the Group List
Four venues carry an age marker on the map. Martuni's at 4 Valencia St, Blondie's Bar at 540 Valencia St and Latin American Club at 3286 22nd St are marked 21+. Good Vibrations at 603 Valencia St is marked 18+.
The schedule host tags sessions instead. Nine sessions carry a 21+ tag and six carry an 18+ tag. Ten venues carry a session-level tag, and four of them carry a map marker.
The two lists disagree at seven addresses. Latin American Club is 21+ on the map and 18+ on its 8:00pm session. Monkeybrains at 933 Treat Ave, The Sycamore at 2140 Mission St, Curio Bar SF at The Chapel at 775 Valencia St, Et al. etc. at 2831a Mission St, Red Poppy Art House at 2698 Folsom St and The Drawing Room: Annex carry session tags with no marker on the map.
A group with anyone under 21 in it reads both lists at the door.
The Scale and the Housing Gap
Litquake publishes the drawing figure. The crawl page reads 250+ authors and close to 5,000 fans for the night. The same page dates the first Lit Crawl to 2004 and calls it the world's largest free pop-up literary event.
No page on the track names a partner hotel. Hotel, lodging and stay return zero hits on the crawl page, the schedule host and the venue map, and no page publishes a room block, a rate, a cut-off date or a group code for the 24 October date.
Two tasks sit with the planner. Build the address list phase by phase, and set the arrival at each door against the 30-minute gap. Both rest on the published map.
