Ignite’s Group Block Holds Four Hotels Beside Moscone

Microsoft Ignite holds its hotel block at the Canopy by Hilton SoMa, the Hyatt Regency Downtown SoMa, the Palace Hotel and the San Francisco Marriott Marquis. Booking is a request inside the registration flow, it needs the Advantage pass, and the FAQ publishes no rate, room count or cut-off.

How the Ignite hotel programme is gated

Microsoft Ignite runs 17-20 November 2026 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. Microsoft publishes its hotel programme on the event FAQ.

The FAQ reads that the Advantage pass opens exclusive access to book within a dedicated hotel block. Hotel booking access is limited to four properties.

The four properties are the Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa, the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SoMa, the Palace Hotel and the San Francisco Marriott Marquis.

The booking route is a request

The FAQ directs attendees to log in to their registration and to submit a request for a room at their preferred hotel. Reservations are available while inventory lasts and are subject to availability.

The page publishes no nightly rate, no room count and no property-level cut-off for any of the four.

Where the four sit

Each of the four sits inside 454 m of the venue. Straight-line distances from Moscone Center South at 747 Howard Street, computed from geocoded coordinates: the Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa at 250 4th Street, 189 m; the San Francisco Marriott Marquis at 780 Mission Street, 335 m; the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SoMa at 50 3rd Street, 337 m; the Palace Hotel at 2 New Montgomery Street, 454 m.

The venue publishes the surrounding inventory on its own pages. Its FAQ page reads that more than 20,000 hotel rooms sit within walking distance of Moscone Center. Its booking page reads that more than two-thirds of the city’s 34,000 hotel rooms are within walking distance of the venue.

Four days with one off-site keynote

Microsoft takes the opening keynote to Chase Center. The agenda lists shuttle service to the keynote and asks attendees to allow extra time before it begins.

Chase Center stands at 1 Warriors Way in Mission Bay. The straight-line distance from Moscone Center South to that address is 2,153 m, or 1.34 miles, computed from geocoded coordinates.

The programme compresses into a short window. Microsoft publishes pre-day sessions and labs on Monday 16 November, the event from Tuesday 17 November to Friday 20 November, and the Hub-only window from 17 November to 19 November.

The scale Microsoft publishes

Microsoft’s numbers block reads 20K+ in-person attendees, 200K+ digital attendees, 2,100+ speakers and 830+ sessions.

The venue’s own record names Moscone North, South and West for the 2026 edition, so the four days commit the whole campus.

The venue also publishes why the booking sits where it does. Its booking page states that Moscone Center serves primarily to fill hotel rooms in San Francisco and potentially the surrounding area.

The sourcing window

Hotel reservations secured through the Ignite registration page must be booked by 3:00 PM Pacific Time on Friday 16 October 2026. Cancellation requests must be received by 11:59 PM Pacific Time the same day, and Conference or Hub-only passes cancelled on or before that date are refundable minus a $200 processing fee.

In-person registrations and registration transfers both close at 5:00 PM Pacific Time on 13 November 2026.

What a group seller can quote

Engine’s citywide page puts San Francisco’s average nightly rate at $165 across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026, and gives November at $147.

AHLA and the California Hotel & Lodging Association published an Oxford Economics study on 25 June 2026. Hotels generated more than $12 billion in economic impact in San Francisco in 2025, and each hotel room night drives about $900 in citywide spending. The study attributes the rebound to a materially stronger convention calendar and the return of large-scale events.

The operative limit for a group is the four-property block. A group that needs rooms beyond those four books outside the block, and the FAQ publishes no second list.
