The group
The Orthopaedic Research Society brings its 2027 annual meeting to Moscone West from 19 to 23 February 2027. The society describes the meeting as the world's largest scientific conference dedicated solely to musculoskeletal and orthopaedic research.
Its exhibitor page puts about 2,300 researchers on site, drawn from basic, translational and clinical research, and from academia, industry, government and private practice.
The days a group can sell
Exhibitors work 20 to 22 February. Move-in runs Friday 19 February from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; the hall opens at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday and Monday; move-out runs Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Twelve spotlight speakers are named on the programme page. The society states their talk dates and times will follow.
The society sells messaging inside the meeting app: two polls a day from Friday to Monday and two push notifications a day from Friday to Tuesday.
The exhibitor floor
The exhibitor list runs to laboratory equipment, imaging technologies, testing systems, surgical models, universities, funding agencies, publishers and research consulting firms.
Four names sit under the society's long-term partner heading, which marks five or more years of exhibiting: AMTI, Biomomentum, Kubtec Scientific and Scanco Medical.
Booth space runs from $2,500 for a university tabletop to $15,000 for a premier four-booth pod. A standard 10x10 costs $4,500 and a premier 10x10 $4,900. A booth reserved and paid by 30 November 2026 takes 20 per cent off.
Each 10x10 carries one full-access badge and one exhibit-only badge. Extra badges run $1,520 for full access and $375, $725 or $1,050 for one, two or three exhibit-only.
Cancellations must reach the society's events specialist in writing by 4 January 2027. The society issues no booth refunds and applies payments to the 2028 meeting in New Orleans.
The city partner
The organiser's Explore San Francisco link goes to sftravel.com.
Moscone counts over 20,000 hotel rooms within walking distance, and more than two-thirds of the city's 34,000 rooms on its book-an-event page.
The society publishes no room block, no block rate and no cut-off date for 2027. An itinerary built on this meeting has no published contract to quote.
The bureau's forecast
San Francisco Travel expects 25 million visitors in 2027, up from 24.4 million in 2026, and $10.6 billion in visitor spending, up from $9.9 billion.
Its forecast counts 33 Moscone events and more than 640,000 room nights for 2027, against 38 events and more than 656,000 room nights for 2026. It puts 2026 revenue per available room up 14 per cent to $188.
Tourism Economics projects a 5.2 per cent rise in overnight visitor volume for 2027.
Rates for the window
Engine reports a $165 average nightly rate for San Francisco across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026, and $166 for February. It defines these as par rates, the cheapest publicly available price at the time of each search.
The American Hotel and Lodging Association, with Oxford Economics, puts citywide spending at about $900 per room night and hotel economic impact for 2025 at more than $12 billion.
The next editions
The society dates the 2028 annual meeting to 11 to 15 February 2028 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, and the 2029 meeting to 2 to 6 February 2029 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.
Late-breaking abstract submission for 2027 closes on 9 November 2026. The general call has closed.
