ConferenceDirect is the official housing bureau for SPIE Photonics West 2027. The bureau's booking landing carries the terms a group signs: the close date, the night window and one cancellation charge.
SPIE counts 24,000 people at the meeting. The week runs 30 January to 4 February 2027 across Moscone North, Moscone South and Moscone West.

The housing website closes on Monday 25 January 2027. Hotel closing dates may vary by hotel, so a group works to the earlier of the two dates.
The selectable nights run from Saturday 23 January 2027 to Tuesday 9 February 2027. The conference nights and a night either side of them sit inside that window.
The bureau charges a $50 cancellation fee for room cancellations made at any time. Cancellations made directly with the hotel incur the same fee. The statement descriptor is CONFDIRECT*SPIEPW27.

Where the Group Asks Next
The 2027 landing publishes no rate band, no deposit ladder and no attrition paragraph. A group cannot rank the block against a competing offer until the property list and its rates arrive with the confirmation.

The venue's own event feed brackets the optics week. Winter FancyFaire runs 17 to 19 January, the ASCO GI Cancers Symposium 21 to 23 January, Photonics West 30 January to 4 February and the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 11 to 13 February.
The Moscone Center answers that more than 20,000 hotel rooms stand within walking distance of the building. The venue's event-planning page puts more than two-thirds of the city's 34,000 rooms inside the same radius.
The Rate Basis a Group Prices Against
Engine measures the San Francisco average at $165 a night across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. January and February both price at $166, December at $129 and March at $197.
Engine labels the set par rates. A par rate is the cheapest publicly available price at the time of each search. Ten rooms across six nights at the January figure comes to $9,960.
The citywide spending measure runs higher. The American Hotel and Lodging Association, quoting an Oxford Economics study published on 25 June 2026, puts visitor spending at about $900 for each room night. Ten rooms across six nights comes to $54,000 at that basis.
