Sketchfest 2027: 225 Japantown Rooms and Three Dated Booking Windows

SF Sketchfest runs 18 days from 14 to 31 January 2027. Two Official Hotel Partners sit in Japantown, one of them publishes a room count, and the three group-booking windows the organiser lists belong to the 2026 cycle.

SF Sketchfest runs 18 days, from Thursday 14 January to Sunday 31 January 2027. The organiser's hotel page names two Official Hotel Partners and publishes a room count for one of them. A group planner gets one fixed number and three dated windows.

Two partners, one published count

Hotel Kabuki, a JdV by Hyatt hotel, carries the Official Hotel Partner line on the festival hotel page. The page gives it 225 rooms and suites, a Japantown address, a reservation line at 415-922-3200 and the instruction to ask for SF Sketchfest.

Hotel Enso carries the same partner line on the same page. Its rate route is a corporate ID, 787113000, and its booking link resolves to an IHG redirect.

The 225 figure belongs to the Kabuki listing. It is the only room count the organiser prints for either property.

The three dated windows the prior cycle ran

Attendees held exclusive rates on overnight stays from 15 January to 1 February 2026. The page splits that stay span into Week 1 (Jan 15-18), Week 2 (Jan 19-25) and Week 3 (Jan 26-Feb 2).

Each label is its own link to a Hyatt group-booking page under property code SFOJD. The link targets carry G-SFS6, G-SFS7 and G-SFS5. The title attributes on the same three anchors carry G-DU2M, G-WS1O and G-TENJ.

Read as arrival and departure pairs, the three windows cover 3, 6 and 7 nights, 16 in all, against a stay span the same page prints as 17 nights. The nights of Sunday 18 January and Sunday 25 January 2026 fall in no window.

A group holding the 2027 run holds 18 nights, from a Thursday arrival to a Monday checkout on 1 February. The prior cycle ran the same 18 days and 17 nights, and it opened on a Thursday and closed on a Sunday. The 2027 opening falls 364 days after the 2026 opening.

Where Japantown sits

The organiser's description places the Kabuki in Japantown and within walking distance of the Fillmore District and Pacific Heights. Straight-line distances from the Post Street address to the festival's own rooms are short. The Fillmore at 1805 Geary Boulevard sits 0.26 miles away, the Great American Music Hall at 859 O'Farrell Street 0.54 miles, the Sydney Goldstein Theater at 275 Hayes Street 0.72 miles, and the Marines' Memorial Theatre at 609 Sutter Street 1.02 miles.

Those distances are geocoded straight-line measurements.

The room roster a group plans against

The festival's venue page lists twelve rooms at eleven street addresses. Cobb's Comedy Club at 915 Columbus Avenue prints Wed 5:30-8:00pm, Thu 5:30-8:00pm, Fri 5:30-10:30pm, Sat 5:00-10:00pm, Sun 5:00-8:00pm, and from two hours before door time on a Cobb's show night. Punch Line at 444 Battery Street prints its own ladder. The Great American Music Hall prints Fridays 12pm - 5pm. The other eight rooms print one shared window: in person from 60 minutes before any SF Sketchfest show to 15 minutes after the show begins.

Three of the twelve publish an age rule. Cobb's and Punch Line read 18 and over unless a show note says otherwise. The Great American Music Hall reads 6 and over.

The buyer basis for the same dates

An Oxford Economics study released on 25 June 2026 by the American Hotel & Lodging Association and the California Hotel & Lodging Association puts San Francisco hotel-generated economic impact above $12 billion for 2025. Each hotel room night drives about $900 in citywide spending per visitor. The study counts nearly 50,000 jobs, about 16,000 of them direct, and $2 billion in total taxes. The release puts average daily rates at 92 percent of 2019 levels and forecasts 98 percent for 2026. Eighteen nights on the $900 line come to $16,200 in citywide spending per visitor.

Engine's San Francisco page puts the city average at $165 a night across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. January reads $166 and December $129, and 35 percent separates the cheapest month from the priciest. Engine defines its figures as par rates, the cheapest publicly available price at the time of each search. That basis excludes negotiated and booked rates.

What the organiser does not publish for a group

No citywide block, no group rate, no cut-off, no minimum stay and no 2027 booking window appear on any page the festival publishes. The partner page carries a modification stamp of 10 November 2025, and its rate line still reads for the 15 January to 1 February 2026 window.

A group holds three dated facts for the 2027 run: the 18-day span from 14 to 31 January, the prior cycle's three windows, and the two reservation routes the partner page carries.
