ATTA Names Andalucia for Adventure Travel World Summit 2027

The Adventure Travel Trade Association names Almeria province in Andalucia as the host of the 2027 Adventure Travel World Summit, with 30 hosted buyer places, 20 media places and early-bird rates to 31 December 2026.

The Adventure Travel Trade Association will hold its 2027 Adventure Travel World Summit in Almeria, in the Spanish region of Andalucia. The association announced the choice on 24 September 2026. The summit runs from 4 to 7 October 2027.

ATWS is the association's annual gathering for tour operators, destination representatives, travel media and tour leaders. The 2026 edition takes place in Quebec City. ATTA labels the 2027 event ATWS 2027 Europe.

The week, day by day

The event agenda sets the running order. The Pre-Summit Adventures fall on Sunday 3 October, the day before the Day of Adventure. Monday 4 October carries the Day of Adventure, registration and the opening reception. Educational sessions run in plenary and in breakouts from Tuesday 5 October to Thursday 7 October. Delegates depart on Friday 8 October.

Marketplace and MediaCONNECT

Two named formats run inside the week. The Marketplace is a session of pre-scheduled meetings between suppliers and buyers. ATTA supplier business members may buy a table while supplies last, at an early-access rate of 1,000 dollars. The association names inbound tour operators and accommodation providers among the members who may buy one. MediaCONNECT gives media delegates and industry members a space to share story ideas and build working relationships. It runs on the Thursday.

Thirty hosted buyer places

ATTA will select 30 hosted buyers. The association describes the group as outbound tour operators, travel advisors and online travel agencies that build itineraries with local ground partners. Each selected buyer receives complimentary registration, round-trip economy airfare to Almeria, accommodation, pre-scheduled Marketplace meetings and a five- to six-day Pre-Summit Adventure in Spain.

Twenty media places

ATTA will select 20 official media delegates. The association describes the group as journalists, editors, broadcasters and content creators who cover adventure and sustainability. The place carries a hosted package in the same form, media accreditation and time with the trade at MediaCONNECT.

Buyer applications and media applications both close on 10 January 2027.

Early-bird rates end on 31 December

Registration is open. ATTA describes the early-access rates as the lowest pricing offered for the summit. Prices increase on 1 January 2027. The registration page lists three rates. A business-level ATTA member pays 2,000 dollars per person. A tour operator or accommodation provider who is not yet a member pays 2,350 dollars for event registration plus a first-year business membership, which the association prices as a saving of 100 dollars. A non-member in another category pays 2,450 dollars for event-only registration. A Marketplace table costs 1,000 dollars at the early-access rate.

What the fee covers

The fee covers one person across the four days of the summit. It includes the educational and networking events, a listing in the online delegate directory, three lunches and the event's community and networking app. The Day of Adventure is included, with transportation, an activity and equipment where needed, on a first-come, first-served basis. Marketplace tables, lodging, airfare and travel insurance sit outside the fee.

The destination

ATTA describes the province through its terrain. Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park runs along the coast with volcanic coves and Mediterranean water. The Tabernas badlands sit inland, which the association calls Europe's only true desert. The Sierra Nevada rises to the northwest. The association puts annual sunshine at around 3,300 hours and the share of territory under environmental protection at approximately 30 percent. Its event page estimates 800 tour operators, destination representatives, adventure travel writers and tour leaders in attendance.

Speakers and partnerships

ATTA is taking speaker nominations and topic suggestions, and it states that self-nominations are welcome. Partnership inventory is open. The options include hosted meals and receptions, speaking slots, showcase booths and custom sustainability and networking partnerships.

Gustavo Timo, president of the ATTA, said Andalucia offers the community "a destination with remarkable natural diversity and a strong commitment to protecting it." He added: "We look forward to welcoming delegates to Almeria and to the conversations, partnerships, and ideas that will take shape there."
