Group Business At Hardly Strictly Bluegrass: Six Stages, No Host Hotel

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2026 runs October 2 to 4 on three Golden Gate Park meadows with six stages and no host hotel. The organiser's housing referral and the transport plan carry the group's trip.

A Free Weekend On Three Meadows

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2026 runs Friday October 2, Saturday October 3 and Sunday October 4. The site is Hellman Hollow, Lindley and Marx meadows in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.

The organiser publishes the festival as free with no tickets needed. Four entrances serve the ground: JFK Drive and Transverse Drive, Fulton Street and 30th Avenue, JFK Drive and 36th Avenue, and the South Polo Field entrance at Middle Drive and Metson Road.

Six Stages And A Fixed Curtain

The organiser streams six stages on HSBTV: Banjo, Swan, Towers of Gold, Rooster, Arrow and Horseshoe Hill. The festival map labels the same six.

Gates open at 11 a.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Performances end at 7 p.m. every day. The published schedule runs Friday 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Rooster Stage is dark on Friday.

Every day gives two hours on the ground before the first set.

No Host Hotel: The Organiser's Own Answer

The FAQ carries no room block and names no host property. Its housing answer is a referral. Visitors call the Chamber of Commerce, use a travel site, or contact the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau. Rooms can be booked directly through www.sfvisitor.org. The Visitor Information Center takes requests on 415-391-2000 and toll free at 888-782-9673.

Camping is not allowed in Golden Gate Park. The organiser names Rob Hill Campground in the Presidio and an RV park by Candlestick.

The Transport Plan Carries The Trip

The organiser runs extra Muni service on all three days at regular fares. Muni serves the north side of the park with the 5 Fulton, 5R Fulton Rapid, 31 Balboa, 38 Geary and 38R Geary Rapid buses. The south side has the N Judah train and the 7 Haight/Noriega bus. The 29 Sunset crosses the park on Crossover Drive.

Taxi stands sit on Fulton from 22nd to 24th. Ride-share drop-offs and pickups are pinned around Washington High School on 30th Avenue between Anza and Balboa, and on Balboa between 30th and 31st. Pickups sit on Irving between 25th and 27th Avenue. The organiser states the apps allow pin drops only inside the designated area. The organiser expects the park service to run its shuttle service this year.

Local PTAs run paid parking at a few lots on Saturday and Sunday only, first come first served. Last year's list was George Washington High School at 600 32nd Avenue, Argonne at 680 18th Avenue, Lawton Alternative School at 1570 31st Avenue, Lafayette Elementary at 4545 Anza Street and the SFUSD Admin Campus at 750 25th Avenue. Each lot is independently owned and operated, and the organiser states it cannot guarantee access at the published dates and times. Street parking around the park is extremely limited in the organiser's words.

The published closures frame any coach or shuttle route. JFK Drive closes between Transverse Drive and Bernice Rogers Drive. 36th Avenue and 30th Avenue close between Fulton Street and JFK Drive. Transverse Drive closes between Crossover Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Overlook Drive closes between Transverse Drive and Middle Drive West. Middle Drive West closes between Transverse Drive and MLK. Metson Drive closes between Middle Drive West and MLK. MLK runs westbound only between 25th Avenue and Chain of Lakes.

The Accessibility Layer To Book First

Accessible parking for vehicles with disability placards sits along JFK Drive west of Chain of Lakes, first come first served. The ADA shuttle stops at JFK and Bernice Rodgers Way, JFK and Chain of Lakes, JFK near the Gate 3 entry, and the Golden Gate Park Senior Center at 6101 Fulton Street. A Fulton bus stop sits at 36th and Fulton.

Accessibility Ambassadors staff a tent on JFK at 36th Avenue next to Gate 3. They issue wristbands to guests with mobility issues, limited to the attendee with a disability and one companion. The organiser runs one wheelchair accessible golf cart and three standard carts. Cart service runs from the opening of doors until about 6:15 p.m., halts for crowd safety, resumes about 45 minutes later and ends at 7:30 p.m.

Accessible cart stops sit on JFK at Lloyd Lake for the Banjo and Arrow Stages, Marx Meadow for the Rooster Stage, 30th Avenue for the Swan and Towers of Gold Stages, and at the 36th and JFK event entrance.

What The Group's Rooms Cost

Engine puts San Francisco at $165 a night across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026, in par rates. October averages $176, 7 percent above the city average. September averages $192 and March $197. December is the lowest month at $129. The cheapest month and the priciest sit 35 percent apart. San Francisco ranks 18th of 50 markets, 11 percent above the $148 median. The figures rest on searches made 10 to 180 days before check-in.

The Room Roster Around The Park

The organiser describes the site as a large area inside Golden Gate Park. It covers grassy fields, sandy pathways and paved walkways.

A bounded address-index search around the park returns a small mapped roster. Stanyan Park Hotel at 750 Stanyan Street, The Laurel Inn at 444 Presidio Avenue, the Geary Parkway Motel at 4750 Geary Boulevard, the Seal Rock Inn at 545 Point Lobos Avenue, Metro Hotel at 319 Divisadero Street, Casa Loma Hotel at 600 to 610 Fillmore Street and the Kimpton Buchanan Hotel at 1800 Sutter Street. The positions are straight-line from an address index.

What A Planner Can Fix Today

The FAQ, the schedule and the map carry no attendance figure and no capacity figure. Three facts are fixed now: the programme ends at 7 p.m. on all three days, the paid lots run on Saturday and Sunday only, and the housing layer is the Visitors Bureau referral with the 415-391-2000 information line.
