HFTP Holds Its 74th Annual Convention in Reno

Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals held its 2026 Annual Convention from 22 to 24 September at the Peppermill Resort, Spa & Casino in Reno, Nevada. HFTP calls the meeting the 74th edition of its education and membership conference. The association counts more than 300 members and industry stakeholders in attendance.

The Education Programme

The programme ran across the three days and covered technology, communication, ethics, finance, operations, marketing, strategic planning and fraud prevention.

Alex Weber opened the programme with a keynote titled "The Unstoppable You". HFTP describes Weber as an American Ninja Warrior competitor. He set out methods for working through adversity.

The Wednesday general session went to Danny Goldberg, a practical ethics speaker. His session, "Practical Ethics: Deep Dive Into Speak-Up Culture", addressed how ethics programmes adapt in a changing environment.

Michele Kline closed the programme with "Less Grind. More Impact. One Word: Connection". Kline draws on neuroscience and storytelling. Her session covered tools for building cultures of trust and communication.

A Team-Building Session With a Community Outcome

Attendees joined an experiential team-building session called "Get the Wheels Turning". Teams built 10 children's bicycles. The bicycles went to The Children's Cabinet, a Reno nonprofit that provides programmes and services at no cost to youth and their families. HFTP Helps donated $5,000 to the organisation.

Exhibits, Networking and Awards

The convention carried designated networking hours with more than two dozen tabletop exhibiting companies. Those exhibitors presented solutions for efficiency, workflow and operations.

HFTP presented its association and chapter awards during the convention. The 2026 President's Award went to Tessa Leverett. Mohammad Al Amin, CHAE, took 2026 CHAE of the Year.

Chapter of the Year awards went to the HFTP Nashville Chapter in Tier A (1-35 members), the HFTP North Texas Chapter in Tier B (36-70 members) and the HFTP Gulf Coast Chapter in Tier C (71 or more members). The HFTP Cougar Chapter at the University of Houston is Student Chapter of the Year.

The 2027 Edition Moves to Orlando

HFTP has scheduled its 2027 Annual Convention for 19-21 October in Orlando, Florida. The 2027 meeting marks the association's 75th anniversary.
