Four February Weekends At The IU Natatorium

Four February bookings fill the IU Natatorium's 2027 calendar, and that schedule sets the nights a downtown Indianapolis group block competes for.

Four February Weekends On The Venue's Own Calendar

The IU Natatorium publishes its 2027 event list on its own site. The list is stamped Updated 9/2/2026. February 2027 carries four entries in sequence. Jaguar Aquatics Winter Invitational, 5-7 February. IHSAA Girls Swimming and Diving Championships, 12-13 February. Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships, 17-20 February. IHSAA Boys Swimming and Diving Championships, 26-27 February.

The four bookings span 5 to 27 February, 22 days. The three championship meets span 12 to 27 February, 15 days. The gaps read 5 days from the club meet's Sunday to the girls' Friday, 4 days from the girls' Saturday to the Horizon League's Wednesday, and 6 days from the Horizon League's Saturday to the boys' Friday.

January 2027 carries six bookings on the same list, three of them dated 23 January or later, so five of the month's last nine days are taken.

The Nights Each Weekend Books

The published dates fix the stay shape. The Jaguar Aquatics meet runs Friday to Sunday, two nights. An IHSAA state final runs Friday to Saturday, one night. The Horizon League championship runs Wednesday to Saturday, three nights.

The Horizon League's own 2026-27 championship table lists its swimming and diving championship at the IU Natatorium on 17, 18, 19 and 20 February 2027, hosted by IU Indianapolis. A party arriving for the Wednesday first session books the Wednesday, the Thursday and the Friday.

The IHSAA's 2026-27 Seasons at a Glance table carries the boys' tourney entry list deadline on Thursday 11 February 2027 and the girls' on Thursday 28 January 2027. Each deadline sits 15 days before its own first session. The boys' field reaches the Natatorium through sectionals on 18 and 20 February and diving regionals on 23 February, three days before the Friday first session.

Every state meet entrant arrives through a sectional round. The association's sectional panel fills each event to 32 entrants: the sectional winners, any swimmer at or under the state time standard from a sectional final, and the next fastest statewide to reach the number.

The Downtown Inventory A February Block Draws On

Published counts of the same downtown inventory differ by page. The Indiana Convention Center footer reads 7,100 hotel rooms in downtown Indianapolis, 4,700 rooms connected to the center via skywalks, 200 downtown restaurants within walking distance and 15 minutes to the Indianapolis airport. The same site's hotels page adds that more than half of downtown's 7,100-plus rooms sit within blocks of the convention center and Lucas Oil Stadium.

Visit Indy's downtown hotels page reads more than 9,400 hotel rooms downtown with 5,200 connected to the Indiana Convention Center. Visit Indy's meeting-hotels page reads 34,000 rooms in the metro area, over 8,300 downtown with more than 3,000 in the pipeline, and 4,700 connected at 12 hotels with 800-plus in development. The two Visit Indy pages carry different totals.

The Newest Rooms Land Before The First Friday

The 800-room Signia by Hilton Indianapolis is accepting reservations for stays beginning 1 February 2027, on the Georgia Street promenade in the Wholesale District with direct skywalk access to the convention center. The Convention Center's own news item calls it the city's tallest hotel and the center's newest headquarters hotel. Visit Indy's connected-hotels page carries the property at 803 rooms with 235,000 square feet of meeting space including a 50,000-square-foot ballroom.

That first stay night is 11 days before the girls' Friday and 25 days before the boys' Friday.

What The Sequence Does To A February Block

A group block written for one of the four weekends sits inside a 22-day run that carries four separate bookings at the venue. The venue publishes no room block, no rate and no booking cut-off for any of the four February bookings.

The Natatorium reports a seating capacity of 4,700 and more than 100,000 competitive swimmers and fans through it annually. Its history page dates construction to the summer of 1982 and a $20 million renovation to 2015, and its tour page dates that renovation's completion to 2016.

March on the same list runs on: NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships 9-13 March and USA Swimming Speedo Sectional Championships 18-21 March.
