Eighteen Fairs, Eight Days: Sizing the Art Week Group Block

Citywide art week anchored by Art Basel Miami Beach, with eighteen fairs across Miami Beach, Miami, North Miami and Coconut Grove and no published room block.

The block is the group's product

The Miami Art Week events page lists eighteen fairs. Two carry the main fair heading and sixteen sit under satellite fairs and events. The page prints no lodging line and no room block. A group seller therefore builds one instrument: the block, sized against the eight days the programme occupies.

Eight days from a Sunday vernissage

AfriKin Art Fair opens the run at Maison AfriKin, 1600 NE 126th Street in North Miami, with a vernissage on Sunday 29 November from 6 to 9 p.m. and public days from 30 November to 6 December. The last dated close is Sunday 6 December, when Art Basel Miami Beach, Art Miami, Aqua Art Miami and the two Mana Wynwood fairs all shut at 6 p.m.

That span is eight days. Seven nights, checking in Sunday 29 November and out on Sunday 6 December, put a bed behind every day of the run except the final evening. An eighth night keeps the room through the Sunday closes.

The fair count by day is the sizing unit

Count the fairs whose published run covers each day: one on 29 November, one on 30 November, six on 1 December, eleven on 2 December, twelve on 3 December, twelve on 4 December, twelve on 5 December and eleven on 6 December. That is sixty-six fair-days across eight days, an average of 8.25 a day. The 2 December count includes Art Basel's invitation-only preview and Aqua's VIP preview, so the public floor that day is smaller.

The daily shape sets the size. A block built to the average carries too few rooms on the three peak nights. A block built to the peak carries three soft nights at the front.

Three addresses carry five of the eighteen fairs

One Herald Plaza holds Art Miami and CONTEXT. Mana Wynwood at 2217 NW 5th Avenue holds Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami. The Miami Beach Convention Center at 1901 Convention Center Drive holds Art Basel Miami Beach. Design Miami lists Convention Center Drive at 19th Street. Two more addresses carry the mainland rest: 2300 North Miami Avenue for arteNXT and photoMIAMI, the organiser's own two exhibitions, and Ice Palace Studios at 1400 North Miami Avenue for NADA Miami, 1 to 5 December.

Four clusters across one county

The venue addresses sit inside Miami-Dade County in four clusters. Miami Beach holds the convention centre, Aqua at 1530 Collins Avenue, Scope at 801 Ocean Drive, UNTITLED at Ocean Drive and 12th Street, and Design Miami on Convention Center Drive. The City of Miami holds One Herald Plaza, Mana Wynwood, Ice Palace Studios and the gallery at 2300 North Miami Avenue. North Miami holds AfriKin at 1600 NE 126th Street. Coconut Grove holds Pinta at The Hangar, 3385 Pan American Drive.

The block sits in one cluster and drives to the others, so a Wynwood base buys a causeway crossing on every peak day.

What the clusters cost in road miles

Road distances measured with OpenStreetMap routing from the published addresses. 2300 North Miami Avenue to One Herald Plaza is 1.24 miles and about three minutes by car. One Herald Plaza to the Miami Beach Convention Center is 3.70 miles. 2300 North Miami Avenue to the convention centre is 6.18 miles and about 13 minutes.

The two outlying fairs sit further out: 7.16 miles to AfriKin in North Miami, 7.51 miles to Pinta at The Hangar, and 12.22 miles from the convention centre to The Hangar.

What the schedule publishes and what it withholds

Six fairs carry a 2026 date to be advised: Art Beat Miami, Fridge Art Fair, INK MIAMI, No Vacancy Miami Beach, Prizm Art Fair and Satellite Art Fair. Design Miami holds 1 to 6 December with its daily schedule marked to be determined, and UNTITLED holds 2 to 6 December with its show hours marked the same.

Read on 22 October 2026, the page carries no accommodation line, no room block, no shuttle, no parking term and no ticket price. The two hotel names on the page are venue names: the Aqua Hotel and the Satellite Hotel.

Sizing the block against the day count

A 25-room block held for the eight nights from 29 November is 200 room-nights against 66 fair-days, about three for every dated fair open during the stay. The same 25 rooms for the three peak nights alone is 75 room-nights against 36 fair-days.

The front of the week is where a full-run block costs most. Sunday 29 and Monday 30 November carry one fair each, and the Monday evening content is closed: the kickoff party runs 6 to 10 p.m. and the page marks it VIP, invitation only. A group opening Tuesday 1 December skips two nights and misses AfriKin's vernissage and first public day.

The three nights to protect

Where attrition has to sit, the published day count puts it on the front. Thursday, Friday and Saturday carry twelve dated fairs each. Wednesday carries eleven, Tuesday six, and the two opening days one each. A release that returns rooms across 1 to 3 December protects the property's ability to resell the soft nights and keeps the group whole for the peak.

The Sunday is the second decision. The dated closes fall at 6 p.m. on 6 December, so a group checking out that morning leaves eleven fairs behind. An eighth night, or a late checkout in the contract, answers it.

What to put in the request

Ask each property for its check-in and checkout times, resort or urban fee, nightly parking charge, deposit authorisation, cancellation date and early departure term. Those six quantities decide what the rate costs a group.

Then give the property the day count rather than a nightly narrative. Twelve dated fairs on each of the three peak nights, six on 1 December and one on each opening day is a shape a group desk can price. The page supports those numbers and stops: it prints no attendance figure for the week and no per-fair capacity.
