Midwest Multifamily Conference Brings Two Days of Group Business to Indianapolis

The Indiana Apartment Association brings 20 education sessions and a two-day trade show to the Indiana Convention Center on 15 and 16 October 2026

Two Days in the Middle of October

The Indiana Apartment Association brings the Midwest Multifamily Conference to the Indiana Convention Center on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 October 2026. The convention centre forecasts 950 attendees on its own event page. The association's conference home page publishes a larger line, at 3,000-plus association attendees. The two figures come from two publishers and measure two different things, so a planner sizes the block against both.

Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. Eastern on the Thursday, and the event closes at 5:00 p.m. on the Friday. The association restricts the plans to apartment owners, management companies and their employees. A supplier who wants a seat must exhibit at the trade show.

The Host City Inventory

The Indiana Convention Center publishes its city figures on every page, in a block headed Indianapolis by the Numbers. Downtown Indianapolis holds 7,100 hotel rooms. Of those, 4,700 connect to the convention centre through climate-controlled skywalks. The venue counts 200 downtown restaurants within walking distance. It also puts the drive from Indianapolis International Airport at 15 minutes.

The venue's hotels page states that more than half of downtown's 7,100-plus rooms sit within blocks of the centre and Lucas Oil Stadium. Its dining guide states that downtown alone holds more than 200 restaurants. The skywalks close and reopen on an event-dependent clock, with a rule of thumb of an 11:00 p.m. lockdown and a 6:00 a.m. reopening.

The skywalk count is the load-bearing number for a meeting planner. It covers two thirds of the published downtown room supply.

The Expanded Trade Show Floor

The association describes a larger trade show hall for 2026 and hundreds of suppliers from across the Midwest. The registration page puts the supplier figure above 200. The floor sits in Hall H, and the association places registration directly outside the trade show entrance.

The show runs both days. Thursday hours are 1:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday hours are 12:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. That totals six hours of show floor time across the two days. Two plans cover the floor alone, at $66 for members and $98 for non-members on either day.

Where the Block Sits

The association's room block sits at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, 350 W Maryland St. The association's travel page states that the date to reserve inside the block has passed and directs guests to the hotel directly at prevailing rates.

Visit Indy lists the same property inside its connected package of 12 hotels and 5,200 rooms, alongside the JW Marriott at 1,005 rooms, the Westin at 575, the Hyatt Regency at 499 and the Crowne Plaza Union Station at 273. The package counts 5,200 rooms connected once the 803-room Signia Hilton Indianapolis opens. The venue counts 4,700 rooms connected today. A planner holds both counts with their publishers.

What the Two Days Return

The programme carries 20 education sessions. Thursday runs a keynote in the Sagamore Ballroom plus three blocks of four concurrent sessions. Friday runs a second keynote, one block of four and two closing sessions. The association counts 16 industry topics, 20 breakout sessions and eight-plus hours of networking.

Group plans and prices are published in full. Plan A covers the entire conference at $662 for members and $858 for non-members, with the awards dinner included. The single-day plans cost $417 and $534. The awards dinner alone costs $251 and $326. The Friday maintenance package costs $233 and $301. Every plan closes on 14 October at noon Eastern, and the dinner-only plan closes on 13 October at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.

Cancellation terms carry two dates. A cancellation after 25 September 2026 returns 50 percent. A cancellation after 6 October 2026 returns nothing. A substitution after 6 October carries a $25 service charge, including one made at the on-site desk during the conference.

The Week Around the Conference

Thursday 15 October is the busiest day on the venue schedule for that stretch. Three events run on the published calendar for the date: the Best Practices Expo, forecast at 1,200; the Metal Treating Institute's Furnaces North America, forecast at 1,500; and the Midwest Multifamily Conference at 950. The three total 3,650 attendees on the calendar, which is a headcount and never a room count.

Lucas Oil Stadium lists the Bands of America Super Regionals across 16 and 17 October, and the Indianapolis Colts host the Tennessee Titans at 1:00 p.m. on 18 October. A planner who wants the Friday night should book it early.

New supply arrives inside the same window. The Signia by Hilton Indianapolis carries 803 rooms and a skybridge connection, with 235,000 square feet of meeting space that includes a 50,000-square-foot ballroom. Visit Indy expects the opening in 2026.
