One Saturday closes the distance set
Indianapolis runs its marathon, half marathon and 5K on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026. General registration for all three in-person distances is sold out, and limited charity entries remain open. The organiser's banner carries that notice on every page, and each charity partner sets its own fundraising minimum.
A group planner works against one fixed date. The room block publishes its deadlines, its ceiling and its contact desk.
The block runs through Visit Indy
Beyond Monumental holds a block of downtown guestrooms. Reservations go through the 2026 Hotel Block website at book.passkey.com. A planner selects "Attendee" in the dropdown and enters no access code. The Visit Indy Housing Bureau staffs the block from housing@visitindy.com and 317-262-8191, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
The bureau publishes a waitlist route. A planner emails or calls with a preferred property. The bureau calls back when that property opens for the requested dates and sends a new acknowledgment. The guest cancels the unwanted reservations and covers any fee attached to them.
Fourteen properties, twelve inside a mile
The block holds 14 properties for the Nov. 5 to Nov. 9 window. Twelve of the 14 sit within one mile of the race site, and ten sit within half a mile.
Ten properties sit inside half a mile. Embassy Suites Indianapolis Downtown at 110 West Washington Street measures 0.06. The Hyatt Regency Indianapolis at One South Capitol Avenue measures 0.06. The Westin Indianapolis at 241 West Washington Street measures 0.09. Hilton Indianapolis Hotel and Suites at 120 West Market Street measures 0.24. Hampton Inn Indianapolis Downtown Across from Circle Centre at 105 South Meridian Street measures 0.31. Omni Severin Hotel at 40 West Jackson Place measures 0.32. Hilton Garden Inn Downtown at 10 East Market Street measures 0.35. Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre at 31 West Ohio Street measures 0.35. Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Downtown Union Station at 123 West Louisiana Street measures 0.39. Hyatt Place Indianapolis Downtown at 130 South Pennsylvania Street measures 0.46.
Two sit between half a mile and a mile. Holiday Inn Express and Suites Indianapolis Downtown Convention Center Area at 410 South Missouri Street measures 0.64. TownePlace Suites Indianapolis Downtown at 629 Russell Avenue measures 0.94.
Two sit beyond a mile. CozySuites Block 20 at 423 East Michigan Street measures 1.13. Staybridge Suites Indianapolis Downtown Convention Center at 535 South West Street measures 1.14.
Five rooms under one name
The booking site states the ceiling once. A planner may reserve up to five rooms under the same name, and the landing page repeats the limit. A group that needs wider inventory splits the request across more than one name, or asks the bureau to hold it.
The occupant-name deadline follows from the cap. Rooms held under one name must carry assigned guest occupant names by Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026. That date sits 39 days before the race.
The deadline ladder
Four dates govern a group's money and its edits.
Thursday, Oct. 8 is the last day to cancel without penalty. A $25 fee applies per reservation cancelled after that date.
Monday, Oct. 5 through Friday, Oct. 16 is the window to make new reservations or add nights to existing ones. The closing date varies by property, and every addition runs subject to availability. Online booking closes Oct. 16.
Thursday, Oct. 22 is the last day to modify an existing reservation through the Housing Bureau. Cancellations and no-shows after Oct. 22 are charged by the hotel.
All 14 properties carry that same Oct. 22 close date on the block's own record.
After Oct. 22 a planner contacts the hotel directly. The block page also tells a planner to reach the hotel when the search returns nothing for the chosen nights.
Availability moves by night
The published availability shifts with the nights selected. A search for the race Saturday alone, Nov. 7 to Nov. 8, returned rooms at nine properties on 25 September 2026. A search covering Friday and Saturday returned one.
Starting rates in the race-Saturday search ran from $173 at Hilton Garden Inn Downtown to $251 at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, a spread of $78.
Special requests pass to the hotel. The block states each one sits at the hotel's discretion at check-in.
The expo sets the arrival night
The Monumental Health and Fitness Expo and Packet Pickup runs at the Indiana Convention Center across two days. Thursday, Nov. 5 runs 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6 runs 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The two windows total 12 hours.
The clear gear check bag comes from the expo. Race morning at Washington Street and West Street accepts that bag alone. The bag rule ties the two expo windows to race morning.
The venue dates its own expo page to Nov. 6 alone. That page places the expo in Exhibit Hall A-B and forecasts 20,000 attendance.
What the group books against
All 14 properties quote 17 percent tax on the room rate. Four name a $1 per-night district fee on top. Embassy Suites calls it a Downtown Destination Fee. Hilton Indianapolis calls it an EED fee. Hyatt Regency calls it a Downtown District Fee. Hyatt Place calls it an Economic Enhancement District Fee. Crowne Plaza Union Station carries a City and District Fee line with no figure attached.
CozySuites Block 20 adds a one-time cleaning fee of $90 for a studio or one-bedroom apartment and $110 for a two-bedroom. Its tax line also carries a $39.99 damage waiver or a $200 refundable deposit.
The Indiana Convention Center counts 7,100 hotel rooms in downtown Indianapolis and 4,700 rooms connected to the center by skywalk. The block's 14 properties sit inside that inventory.
