A 1,200-Person Audience With A Published Split
The 47th Annual NPH Affordable Housing Conference fills one day at Moscone Center in San Francisco. The Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California holds it on Thursday, September 24. Doors open at 8 a.m. and the programme closes at 5:30 p.m. The event page now reads that the event has passed and that registration is closed.
The conference sponsor packet puts more than 1,200 housing leaders in the building and divides them into seven groups. NPH publishes that audience before a group desk asks about the room block.
The Seven Audiences
Developers hold 35 percent of the audience. Lenders and investors hold 15 percent. Public agencies hold 15 percent. Policy and advocacy holds 10 percent. Construction and contracting holds 8 percent. Architecture and engineering holds 7 percent. The other column holds the last 10 percent. The seven figures sum to 100.
At the 1,200 figure NPH prints, the split works out to 420 developer seats, 180 lender and investor seats, 180 public agency seats, 120 policy and advocacy seats, 96 construction and contracting seats, 84 architecture and engineering seats and 120 in the other column.
Those seven labels are the account list. A group desk reading the packet knows which desks to call before it prints a rate sheet.
The Room Block Question
The published clock sets the block shape. One Thursday, opening at 8 a.m. and closing at 5:30 p.m., covers 570 minutes. The block turns on the nights around the single day: the night a delegate sleeps before an 8 a.m. registration, and the night after a reception that ends at 5:30 p.m.
The Yerba Buena Partnership lists eleven hotels inside the district, each with a street address. Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa sits at 250 4th St, W San Francisco at 181 3rd St, The St. Regis San Francisco at 125 3rd St, the San Francisco Marriott Marquis at 780 Mission St, Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown Soma at 50 3rd St, The Mosser Hotel at 54 4th St, Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at 757 Market St, InterContinental San Francisco at 888 Howard St, Palace Hotel at 2 New Montgomery St, Pickwick Hotel at 85 5th St and Hotel Zetta San Francisco at 55 5th St.
Straight-line distances from the Moscone South entrance at 747 Howard St run 186 metres at W San Francisco, 189 metres at Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa, 240 metres at The St. Regis San Francisco, 335 metres at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis, 337 metres at Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown Soma, 362 metres at The Mosser Hotel, 371 metres at Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco, 376 metres at InterContinental San Francisco, 454 metres at the Palace Hotel, 478 metres at the Pickwick Hotel and 500 metres at Hotel Zetta San Francisco. Those numbers come from OpenStreetMap coordinates and measure straight lines, so walking routes run longer.
The Destination Pitch
The Moscone neighbourhood pages place Yerba Buena Gardens directly above Moscone North. They list the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the Children's Creativity Museum among the district's cultural destinations, and the Metreon under neighbourhood dining. The Metreon is a four-storey centre at 135 Fourth Street with a 16-screen AMC Theatres, a City Target and more than a dozen restaurants and eateries.
Downtown First Thursdays turns 2nd Street into a street party on the first Thursday of each month. The Moscone page measures it at a 10-minute walk from the centre and calls it free and open to all ages.
Sponsorship of the conference runs from $1,000 at the supporter level to $50,000 at the legacy leadership partner level, on the sponsor packet's own table. The packet names Oksana Amador in fund development and membership as the sponsorship contact.
Getting The Group To The Door
Moscone Center has no on-site parking. The venue directs Moscone North and South arrivals to BART or MUNI at Montgomery station, Moscone West arrivals to Powell station and Caltrain riders to the station at 4th and Townsend Streets.
The Block Goes In Direct
The sponsor packet carries the audience split and the sponsorship ladder. It carries no room rate. A group desk places the block direct and builds the pitch from the audience numbers and the district above.
