The Combine as a citywide group booking

Team owners, coaching staff, medical personnel and national media land in Indianapolis for the 2027 NFL Scouting Combine, an eight-day, seven-night booking with a 12-hotel skywalk package attached.

The shape of the booking

The NFL Scouting Combine runs March 1 through March 8, 2027 at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts' account of the extension names the people it moves through the city: team owners, coaching staff, medical personnel and national media, alongside the general managers, scouts and coaches the league polled on the host question. The league announced the 2027 and 2028 editions on 21 January 2026.

Eight days, Monday to Monday, seven nights. One arrival day, one release day and one weekend inside the block.

The conduit the city sells

The Indiana Convention Center is the piece the Colts' account turns on. Prospects shuttle between meetings, athletic testing, medical evaluations and media availability, and club staff move with them. The Colts' account describes the Convention Center as a central conduit that lets prospects shuttle efficiently between meetings, athletic testing, medical evaluations and media availability.

Visit Indy's planner pages carry the numbers a sourcing document needs. The metro holds 34,000 rooms. Downtown holds more than 8,300, with more than 3,000 in the pipeline, and 24 properties with 10,000 square feet or more of meeting space. Twelve hotels and 4,700 rooms connect to the Convention Center by skywalk. Visit Indy puts the post-expansion figure at 12 hotels and 5,200 rooms connected, with more than 10,000 rooms within walking distance once the wider pipeline lands. The venue footer reads 7,100 downtown rooms and 4,700 skywalk-connected.

The destination package

Dining sits inside the walkable envelope. The venue counts 200 downtown restaurants within walking distance. Visit Indy counts over 300 restaurants and 50 major attractions. The Colts' account names St. Elmo's and Prime 47 as the two rooms league personnel and national media fill during the event week, which it places in the last week of February.

Air access is published at 15 minutes from downtown to Indianapolis International Airport. Visit Indy counts more than 1,000 flights a week into IND from 52 nonstop destinations. The group-experience list carries the off-hours options: the 10-mile Indianapolis Cultural Trail and its six linked cultural districts, the Children's Museum of Indianapolis with its Riley Children's Health Sports Legends Experience of 12 outdoor sports activities, Newfields at 152 acres with Robert Indiana's original LOVE sculpture, the Midwest's only authentic duckpin lanes at the Fountain Square Theatre Building, and brewery tours through HandleBar Indy and Pickled Pedaler.

The middle weekend of the Combine holds Saturday March 6 and Sunday March 7.

The public days and their terms

The fan side carries no charge. Visit Indy's Combine page lists the 2026 edition's terms: free admission, parking included, first come, first served, and free-ticket registration through the NFL OnePass app, with the Combine Experience in the South Lot and the Inside Look inside Lucas Oil Stadium. Its grid gives four dated days by position group, with Combine Experience hours of 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Sunday.

Those clocks belong to the 2026 edition, which ran Feb. 26 through March 1. The 2027 public days sit unpublished.

What Visit Indy says kept it

Visit Indy Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer Chris Gahl ties the extension to the building programme: "We know the expanding Indiana Convention Center and new hotel inventory downtown helped keep this marquee event in Indy." He adds that the league leaves off-field programming behind in the community and that the value runs past economic impact and media exposure.

The programme is the sixth Indiana Convention Center expansion. Visit Indy's why-Indy page describes it as 143,500 square feet of flexible meeting space and an 800-room Signia by Hilton. The connected-hotels page sizes the same property at 803 rooms and 235,000 square feet of meeting space, with a 50,000-square-foot ballroom and a 38-story tower, expected to open in 2026.

The named connected roster runs JW Marriott Indianapolis at 1,005 rooms and 104,482 square feet of meeting space, Indy Marriott at 650 and 42,000, The Westin Indianapolis at 575 and 42,500, Hyatt Regency Indianapolis at 499 and 35,000, Embassy Suites Indianapolis Downtown at 360 and 24,200, and Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Downtown Union Station at 273 and 52,107.

What the group needs before it lands

The venue's public feed for February and March 2027 returns 13 dated records and the Combine is not among them. The nearest dated neighbours are Aloha Indy on 28 February and Work Truck Week from 10 to 12 March.

No block, rate, cut-off date or housing bureau is published for the 2027 Combine by the league, the Colts or Visit Indy. The published scale lines are the 2025 edition's draw of more than 30,000 visitors and fans and a record $9.26 million in economic impact. A planner works from the fixed dates, the connected-hotel roster and the dining count.
