Expo Catamarca 2026 Draws 300 Companies and Full Hotels

Expo Catamarca 2026 ran from 10 to 12 September at the Predio Ferial Catamarca, organised by the Federacion Economica de Catamarca and the provincial government. FEHGRA reports more than 300 companies in the CAME-backed business rounds. The federation's vice-president said inbound flights arrived full and hotel capacity was occupied.

Expo Catamarca 2026 Ran 10-12 September

The second edition of Expo Catamarca 2026 took place from 10 to 12 September at the Predio Ferial Catamarca. The Federación Económica de Catamarca and the provincial government organised the fair. The institutional motto was “Conectando Regiones, Generando Futuro”.

FEHGRA reported the fair as the region’s main productive and business gathering. El Esquiú, Catamarca Actual and Diario Inforama give the same dates and venue.

Prieto Attends the Inaugural Act

FEHGRA states that its president, Daniel Prieto, took part in the inaugural act. El Esquiú named governor Raúl Jalil, vice-governor Rubén Dusso, national production secretary Pablo Lavigne, capital mayor Gustavo Saadi, Copiapó mayor Maglio Cicardini and CORPROA head Juan Ronsecco Pinto among those present.

The Fair’s Stated Purpose

Inforama reported the aim as positioning the province before future investors. Ahead of the fair, El Esquiú reported that the national tourism secretary Daniel Scioli, the president of the Cámara Argentina de Turismo, Laura Teruel, and the economists Esteban Domecq and Gustavo “Lacha” Lazzari were expected to take part.

Thematic Halls Cover Four Tracks

The exhibition divided its programme into thematic halls for tourism, mining, agroindustry and regional economies. Local previews described three strategic axes of tourism, mining and regional economies. FEHGRA lists four halls. El Esquiú and Catamarca Actual confirm the agroindustry space and the heavy machinery display.

Business Rounds Bring More Than 300 Companies

The business rounds ran with support from CAME. FEHGRA reports that more than 300 local, regional and international companies took part. Delegations from Chile attended. El Esquiú reported the arrival of delegations from the Atacama region, representatives of the municipality of Copiapó, Sernatur and port operators from Chile.

Local coverage carries no company count for the rounds. The figure of more than 300 stands on the FEHGRA note.

CAME Joven Award and the Regional Halls

El Esquiú and Inforama both place the Premio CAME Joven Edición Catamarca 2026 in the Saturday programme at 11:00. The award runs in three categories: internationalisation, generational succession and innovation. The winner takes a place at the national stage of the Premio Joven Empresario.

Marcelo Coll, president of the Federación Económica de Catamarca, told Inforama that regional economies, logistics and local industry all appeared in the exhibition through joint work between the public and private sectors.

Flights and Hotel Capacity Filled

Alejandro Segli, vice-president of the Federación Económica de Catamarca, told El Esquiú that flights into the province arrived full and that hotel capacity was occupied. Some business visitors travelled through Tucumán or La Rioja because of flight demand. “We managed to get the planes in full,” he said. “The hotel capacity is complete.”

Organisers Report Record Sales

Marcelo Coll said the business rounds were overflowing with people. He described the outcome as a resounding success and said commercial demand exceeded what the fair could serve. He added that much of the activity sat outside the formal meetings, and that visitors exchanged contacts across the halls.

Coll told Inforama that the edition surpassed the organisers’ expectations and that the business round was a success in the number of presentations.

Weather Cut Two Outdoor Items

FEHGRA lists wine tastings, displays of criollo horses and live music in the beer patio as the closing programme for the Saturday. The locally published Saturday schedule lists an open-air display of regional horse breeds and an outdoor sunset event with a DJ. Coll told Inforama that cold and rain prevented the horse parade and the poncho parade.

FEHGRA lists the poncho parade “Tejiendo Identidad Catamarqueña” among the activities the public enjoyed. The CAME Joven award was presented during the Saturday programme.

What the Fair Put in Front of Group Planners

The Catamarca edition ran on full inbound flights and full hotel capacity, according to the Federación Económica. A provincial fair that fills local rooms and seats tests the same ground a group programme tests: air access, room supply and a business round that connects regional suppliers with buyers.

Ask the Federación Económica for the next edition’s dates and the business-round registration terms.
