Portland taekwondo championships arrive with no group block

The NW Martial Arts Festival runs one Saturday in Hall A with a full fee ladder and one housing line pointing at Expedia. Fifteen hotels sit within 1,200 metres of the door.

One Saturday, one hall, ten rooms to fill

The 2026 NW Martial Arts Festival Championships run on Saturday 7 November in Hall A at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland. The U.S. World Class Taekwondo Association hosts the meet. Its championships outline prints competition hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the event is open to all ages and belt levels.

A school that needs ten rooms for forty people books that night against a document carrying no lodging number.

The housing line is one sentence and a link

The association gives lodging a single line in its outline: many hotels are available next to the Oregon Convention Center, and it sends readers to Expedia. The document carries no group code, no rate, no cut-off date and no named property.

Each club that enters arrives with a published entry date and a published competition day. Each one is a lead with a date attached.

The same document prices everything else

The outline carries a complete fee ladder. Competitor entry is $130 for one event and $60 for each additional event, paid online by 24 October. A coach or media pass costs $100 by the same date, and $150 from 25 to 30 October or at the venue in cash. Spectator admission is $20 in cash, with infants free. Break boards cost $5 each in cash at the check-in desks. A $50 late fee applies from 25 October, and registration closes at 11:59 p.m. PST on 30 October with no refunds.

Every figure a family pays at the door is printed to the dollar. The figure it pays to sleep is absent from the document.

Fifteen properties inside 1.2 km

OpenStreetMap records 15 properties tagged as hotels within 1,200 metres straight-line of the venue address, read on 25 October 2026. Three sit inside 300 metres: Inn at the Convention Center at 420 NE Holladay St at 225 metres, Hyatt Regency at 375 NE Holladay St at 242 metres, and Hotel Eastlund at 1021 NE Grand Ave at 281 metres.

Five more sit between 300 and 700 metres: Quality Inn at 431 NE Multnomah St at 424 metres, Courtyard at 435 NE Wasco St at 497 metres, Crowne Plaza Hotel at 1441 NE 2nd Ave at 595 metres, Shilo Inn Rose Garden at 1506 NE 2nd Ave at 609 metres, and DoubleTree at 1000 NE Multnomah St at 645 metres.

The remaining seven sit between 700 and 1,200 metres. Those distances run straight-line from the venue coordinates 45.5283, -122.6631 to each property's mapped point, so walking routes come out longer. A property that publishes its own walk time or shuttle interval adds the number the straight line lacks.

Three published dates shape the room count

Early registration closed on 24 October. Late registration closes at 11:59 p.m. PST on 30 October. The association releases the final tournament schedule on 2 November through its Facebook page.

A club cannot settle its room count until its entries close on 30 October. It cannot settle its floor count until 2 November. A rate that needs a firm room count before either date asks the club to commit ahead of its own numbers. Ask for a cut-off after 30 October.

The same Saturday carries a second show

The venue calendar lists nine events in November 2026. Two of them trade on 7 November. This championship takes Hall A, and the Oddities and Curiosities Expo 2026 takes Halls C-D-E across 7 and 8 November. The 2027 HBA Housing Forecast Breakfast holds Portland Ballroom 251-252-253-258 on 6 November, and Kumoricon 2026 takes Halls A-A1-B-C-D-E from 13 to 15 November.

Two halls of one building sell one Saturday. A revenue manager pricing that night has the venue calendar beside the rate.

The terms a club needs beside the rate

Parking belongs in the quote. The venue garage charges $15 for up to 18 hours with no in-and-out privileges, and a dynamic $15 to $25 at entry during events. It opens at 6 a.m. and prohibits overnight parking.

Transit belongs beside it. The venue publishes 300 MAX light rail stops a day near its front door, with Portland International Airport eight miles out. A club that arrives on MAX carries no parking line, and a club that drives carries one worth $15 to $25 a vehicle.

The ask

Which Portland property publishes a Saturday-night rate for 7 November 2026 first? A page answering the question carries five items: the rate, the room count it covers, the cut-off hour, the parking term and a date stamp.

Then name the clubs the rate reached. A club officer holding that page can take a number to a board, and every other line on the trip already carries a published price.
